Clinical Observations of Fractures of the Femur

Abstract

|
77 patients with fractured femurs who were admitted to SNUH between Jan. 1957-Sept. 1961 have been summarized.
Among these, 34 cases were treated conservatively while the remaining 43 cases received some kind of operative procedure. A few pertinent clinical findings, as well as end results were discussed.
To the authors, intramedullary nailing seemed to be the treatment of choice in cases of mid-shaft fracture, provided the procedure was done under proper circumstances.
